2014 DITTO - now 2025 SOUTH AMERICA

Oct 10 2025

Life’s so funny, I forgot to laugh

Woah.  That summer.  Hair straight back, long days, that was no joke.  The silver lining is Manitoba people are salt of the earth, make everything worth is type people.

In May I flew from Kelowna to Winnipeg to start my season at our campground called Grand Palms RV Resort.  I took a deep breath, rolled up my sleeves, and dove in head first.  Today – October 10 – I sit here feeling exhausted and accomplished both.  We had a most beautiful year together.

We are the largest RV campground in Manitoba.  We have the best and most strategic location in the province.  We are close to many, many incredible beaches, the biggest being Grand Beach Provincial Park which we are 500 meters from.  This beach was voted one of top 7 nicest beaches in the world by Reader’s Digest.  The sand is like powder - it really is a magical place.

This year was different with my parents.  My mother has bad knees, and my dad took a very bad fall last year while our team was cutting a tree.  This has begun a new chapter with my parents – not easy to watch.

My sweet children in Kelowna are alive and survived another summer without a parent around.  I am proud of them as they managed to keep the house standing, and even ran an AirBNB out of our downstairs.  Heck, every single guest left a 5-star review and those are not easy to come by.  I pray they find their path as they launch into adulthood.

A year ago, I departed to Southeast ASIA until Christmas.  I felt 25 years old and strong throughout that trip.  Today, I feel 75 years old and exhausted – haha – so I will be chasing that strong youthful feeling again this year as I embark and travel through SOUTH AMERICA.

This blog has suffered due to lack of literal minutes in the day.  Due to the response I have had, I will attempt to keep up this blog again through my travels.

Here are a few of my favorite moments since my last blog entry.  If any of this interests you, please join me again as I take on South America SOLO for the most part.

Blessings to all of you my dear friends, see you all at Christmas time in Kelowna.
